This morning at approximately 07:55 AM, American Airlines Flight 1845 from Pittsburgh International to Dallas Fort Worth entered the airspace over Butler County from the Fawn Township area into Clinton Township at approximately 10,000 feet.
It turned westward at 07:57 over the corners of Penn, Clinton, Middlesex, and Jefferson Townships.
While over the Beaver County Airport, the aircraft began a turn back to the east, then began a descent while over the area of New Galilee in Beaver County.
It returned to Butler County airspace at approximately 6,800 feet in Lancaster Township, just south of the Muddy Creek Township line.
The aircraft continued to descend, and at 08:13, while over Moraine Pointe Plaza in Butler Township, it turned to the south as it descended through 4,500 feet.
It crossed the line back into Allegheny County from the area of the Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Middlesex Township at only 4,000 feet or less, entering West Deer Township.
The flight landed safely at Pittsburgh International Runway 28L at approximately 08:26.
I am attaching the relevant part of the Airport Fire Department dispatch for the incident, indicating that the aircraft had “stuck landing gear.”
