Mobile Home Fire: Volkswood Drive

08:13: Stations 14, 25, 35, 3 and 99 dispatched to 312 Volkswood Drive in Center Township for a mobile home on fire.

08:14: Captain 25 acknowledges the call. Chief 14 is responding to the scene. Chief 35 is en route to his station. Chief 14-3 is reporting he is responding to the scene and C-14 states he’ll divert to the station for the engine.

08:15: Chief 3-2 is responding.

08:16: Chief 14-3 is on scene with a fully involved fire. Everyone is confirmed out of the structure.

08:17: Station 14 acknowledges the call with 1 firefighter on station.

08:18: C-14 is advising C-14-3 he will be alone on the engine and additional resources may need to be added to the call.

08:21: Engine 14-2 is responding.

08:22: Per Control, a call from a resident reports there are wires on the roadway, still arcing. Command is asking which units are en route and is advised EN-14-2 only so far.

08:23: A second alarm is requested due to no other apparatus on the road. Station 35 is asking what is needed; they’re advised tankers, there are no hydrants back there.

08:24: Command states they are all the way in the back loop. EN-14-2, is instructed to stretch two 1¾” lines. EN-14-2 states they only 1 in personnel. Rescue 3 and Chief 3 are responding.

08:25: C-3-2 is on scene.

08:26: The second alarm is being activated. Stations 9, 26, 13, 1 and 38 have been added. Engines 3 and 35, Rescue 14, and Tankers 35-2 and 25 are en route.

08:27: Engine 1 is en route.

08:28: Tanker 13 is responding.

08:29: Engine 38 is en route. RQ-14 is approaching, requesting orders. EN-26-1 is responding.

08:30: RQ-14 is on scene. They’re instructed to stage at the top and send their manpower. Station 3 and 1 units are also approaching and asking if their orders are the same.

08:31: Units are being advised limited access for tankers. 3 and 1 units state they will be staging and walking down. EN-35 is approaching, requesting orders. Command is asking if they have a tanker en route and is advised they do.

08:32: Command is instructing EN-35 to stage and send their manpower; the tanker is needed to the scene. TN-35-2, RQ-3, and EN-1 are on scene.

08:34: EN-38 is approaching the scene.

08:35: EN-38 is on location.

08:36: TN-25 is arriving and is being instructed to stage outside the area; Command will advise if they are needed.

08:37: Command is being advised the main breaker is off at the rear of the trailer.

08:38: TN-13 is approaching and is instructed to stage with TN-25. TN-13 and EN-3 are now reporting on scene.

08:39: Command is now canceling any unit not on scene.

08:43: The fire is being marked under control at this time.

08:44: City shifts are being activated to backfill the station.

08:56: Command is requesting Control notify the Red Cross of two displaced adults.

09:00: Command is asking Control to check with the power company on the status of the remote disconnect; they still have live electric on scene.

09:06: TN-25 and TN-13 are returning in service.

09:07: Control states they are on the phone with West Penn Power again, and they will be attempting a remote shut off now.

09:29: EN-38 is back in service.

09:32: EN-1 is clear of the scene.

09:33: Per C-3, all Station 3 units are clear and in service.

09:40: Per EN-35, all Station 35 units are back in service, returning to station.

09:43: Command is terminated; Station 14 is back in service.
