15:09: Stations 3, 1, 38, and 99 dispatched for a motorcycle crash on Route 422 eastbound in Butler Township, between the Mercer Road and Duffy Road overpasses. This is a vehicle vs motorcycle; the rider is on the ground with agonal breathing. Lt-3-2 is responding to Station 3; 99-2 is assigned to the call.
15:10: 99-2 is en route and is requesting the availability of an aircraft. Engine 38 is responding. Chief 3-3 is en route and is advising Control that if the aircraft is needed, they’ll land at the hospital.
15:12: Control is advising all units that an additional call reports a left foot amputation. 99-2 is requesting the aircraft in the air when available, to BMH. Control states it will be Stat MedEvac 3 with a 12 minute ETA to BMH.
15:13: Second alert for Station 1. They state they’ve been en route, although nothing came across the radio (confirmed by Control). Someone, possibly on scene, is stating, “go ahead and put it in the air.”
15:14: EN-38 and 99-2 are on scene. Control is advising Stat 3 will be inbound to BMH with a 12 minute ETA. Rescue 3-2 is responding.
15:15: 99-2 is stating he needs 99-21 to the scene. Station 99 is being alerted.
15:16: Station 99 is advising they already have an additional ALS unit en route. Control is advising all units that per 99-2, they are working an active arrest. 99-21 states he is en route with 99-6.
15:19: Squad 3-2 is responding. They’re being instructed to get on at Moraine Point and get to the beginning of the construction area, and stop there to slow traffic.
15:20: RQ-3-2 just got on Rt 422 at Moraine Point; they are to pull in behind the units already on scene. C-3-3 states he is on the scene with Rt 422 Command. All eastbound lanes are closed at this time.
15:21: All incoming unit are instructed to stage on their line of approach. RQ-3-2 and RQ-3 are on location.
15:23: Stat 3 is airborne from UPMC Cranberry.
15:24: Per Command, the aircraft can stand down.
15:25: SQ-3-2 is requesting orders; Command states they were to stage at Moraine Point to slow traffic. Asked if he wants all of Rt 422 shut down, Command states they are to park on the berm so traffic can see their lights. Traffic is already stopped.
15:33: 99-6 (with 99-21) and 99-2 are both clear of the scene. All eastbound lanes are full-stop per a 3rd party report.
15:40: EN-38 has been released by Command and is back in service.
15:42: EN-1-2 has been released; TR-1 remains on scene with Station 3 units at this time.
16:12: LR-3 is requesting Control start Butler Township PD for an MVA on New Castle Rd @ the entrance to Walmart. A tow is needed, and 1 lane of traffic is blocked. Control states PD were aware of it and are en route.
16:30: LR-3 is being instructed to get out into traffic; TR-1 is going to pull out, and LR-3 is to take their spot when they move.
16:31: TR-1 is clearing; only Station 3 units remain at this time. The roadway is still fully closed.
18:06: RQ-3 is advising Command that the tow truck is inbound.
18:29: Incident terminated; all units are clear.
