MVA, Multiple Injuries: Herman Rd, Summit Twp

18:09: Stations 10 and 99 (to cover Station 44’s 2nd active call) dispatched for an MVA in the area of 858 Herman Rd, Summit Twp. Two vehicles, at least 3 patients — 1 laying on the ground with a leg injury, another with a head injury.

18:13: Cap-10 on scene, investigating. He is now also checking how many ambulances are coming and is advised only 1, and they were advised multiple times of the multiple patients. Cap-10 is requesting 4 total ALS units.

18:14: All patients self-extricated.

18:15: Control is attempting to ask 45-1 if they have an available unit. They do not.

18:16: 99-5 is now responding. Freeport 70-4 is being asked if they have another ALS truck.

18:17: Station 64 is being dispatched to this incident. 99-3 is now responding to the incident.

18:18: A Freeport unit called en route but was advised there was a closer unit.

18:18: Control is advising Cap-10 he has 99-2, 99-3, and 99-5 coming, and 45-1 is unloading a patient at BMH and will then be en route.

18:19: 99-2 is on location. Portable 64 is advising Command that a provider can come from West Sunbury and a truck can come from Portersville, if needed, but with an extended ETA.

18:20: Cap-10 states they will be OK with 45-1 coming from the hospital. Station 64 is back in service. 45-1 is responding from the hospital now.

18:22: 99-5 is approaching; they are to pull in beside 99-2. 99-5 is now on location.

18:26: Command is now requesting an additional BLS unit to the scene. Control states he’ll try. Control is confirming if this is a fifth ambulance and it will be. Command states they have a paramedic from 44 on scene who just needs a driver and truck.

18:27: Station 44 is being alerted to send a truck out. 99-3 is on location. 45-1 is approaching.

18:28: 45-1 is on scene.

18:31: Second alert for Station 44 due to no acknowledgment. 99-5 is transporting to BMH, BLS.

18:32: Control is attempting to reach Station 64.

18:35: 99-2 is now transporting a patient to BMH.

18:36: Command is now advising they spoke with 44 directly and they will be en route shortly. 44-1 is now responding QRS-only and is advised he will be a transporting unit for a paramedic already on scene.

18:39: 99-3 is transporting, BLS, to BMH.

18:42: 44-1 is on scene.

18:45: 99-5 is out at the hospital.

18:48: 99-2 is out at the hospital. 44-1 is en route to BMH, ALS.

18:51: 99-3 is out at BMH.

18:56: 45-1 is transporting a patient to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.

19:01: 44-1 is out at the hospital.

19:09: Command terminated; all FD units are back in service.
