Apartment Fire: East Locust St, Butler City

14:59: Stations 1, 38, 3, and 99 dispatched for a structure fire, 404 E. Locust St, Butler City, Apartment 4; a caller is reporting a fire in the apartment, evacuation is in progress.

15:01: Control is advising that City PD are on scene with a working fire. 99-3 is responding. Chief 3-2 to the scene.

15:02: EN-1-2 is asking for the second alarm; City shifts are to be alerted.

15:03: City shifts are being alerted. 99-3 is on scene, staging. Squad 3 is responding.

15:04: Chief 1 is on scene. EN-38 is coming in off of Brady, requesting orders. They are to nose up to EN-1-2.

15:05: Ladder 3 is en route.

15:06: EN-38 is on scene. They’re advised there is another hydrant on their way in. They are taking the corner of Elm / Brady.

15:07: EN-38 is advised whichever hydrant they find, grab it. EN-1-2 interior is being advised they’re getting shut down until they get water, dead hydrant.

15:08: EN-1-2 interior advised they are out of water. LR-3 is approaching, requesting orders.

15:09: EN-38 is being instructed to charge their hydrant. Rescue 3 is en route.

15:10: Someone is asking if EN-38 is ready for water; they’re being instructed to go ahead and send water. They’re now stating water is coming. Additional crews from Station 38 are being toned out.

15:12: EN-38 is being asked if they need a white line charged and are stating not at this time. Tower 1 is now responding.

15:13: TR-1 is approaching, and is to come in behind EN-1. EN-38 is on the second house(?). Unclear.

15:14: RQ-3 is approaching. TR-1 is on location.

15:15: Interior crews are asking for an attic ladder from Command.

15:20: RQ-3 is advising Lt-3 they can gain access where they are, but there are cars(?).

15:23: Someone is stating there’s a lot burning on the façade of the building. Exterior crews are possibly stating they will be hitting that side.

15:24: Units are attempting to get a yellow line stretched farther onto Division 2.

15:39: Division 2 is, again, asking for more yellow line. Roof crew has heavy fire in the ridge on side Charlie. They state it is running the ridge, from side Charlie to Alpha.

15:40: Interior crews are being instructed to check for the fire mentioned by the roof crew. They confirm it is running the top ridge vent(?).

15:41: Command is advising there is fire venting out from the roof where it connects from side Delta to the main house. Interior/Division 2 does not have access.

15:42: Command is advised roof crews are evacuating the roof.

15:43: Command is asking Control to add Station 10. They are now being activated.

15:44: Station 10 acknowledges the call with (2?) firefighters on Station. Interior crews are asking for 2 fresh firefighters.

15:50: Engine 10 is en route.

15:52: Command is now requesting an Engine from Station 14 for additional relief crews. They are now being activated. Division 2 crews are being told they’re hitting “it” now.

15:53: Division 2 crews state if it is knocked down, they just need the attic ladder they’ve been waiting on. Brush 3 is responding.

15:54: Chief 14 is responding to his station.

15:56: EN-10 is approaching; they are just to position to their best advantage and send their manpower to staging. They are now reporting on scene.

15:57: Station 14 has advised they are down an Engine and is asking if Command can just use manpower in a couple of squad vehicles; Command is okay with that.

16:05: Command is asking Control to disconnect power to all 4 units in the building; it has only been disconnected to the original apartment at this time. A remote disconnect is okay.

16:08: EN-14-2 is approaching; they are to stage the apparatus and send their crew to the command post for manpower.

16:19: Command is marking the fire under control at this time but states they’ll be on scene for some time with overhaul. Control states the power company is unable to do a remote disconnect at this location; a crew will be dispatched instead with a 1-2 hour ETA.

16:21: Command is asking for a gas chainsaw off EN-10.

16:39: Command is requesting the PSP Fire Marshal be notified.

16:50: EN-38 is advising their Station they’re preparing to wrap up now.

17:08: EN-10 is clearing the scene but will remain on standby on their station for Station 1 until they clear.

18:19: Incident terminated. Chief 1 is clear; the Red Cross is on the scene.

18:20: Station 10 units have confirmed with C-1 that they are released from standby and are back in service.
