Fall From Ladder: McClymonds Trucking

11:18: Station 64 for an Echo response to McClymonds Trucking near the intersection of New Castle Road and Currie Road, for a male in his 60s who fell from a ladder and is reportedly not breathing. 64-1 is diverting to this call from another and is requesting an ALS unit be dispatched to assist.

11:19: Station 52 added for a medic assist. Patient is reportedly breathing but unconscious.

11:20: 52-1 is responding. 64-1 is requesting air medical on standby at this time.

11:21: 52-2 is also en route.

11:23: 64-1 is on location.

11:25: Control states LifeFlight 4 and Stat MedEvac 8 both show a 12 minute ETA if needed; Control just requests to be advised which service to send if needed. Someone else is stating that if the helicopter is available to put them in the air; Station 24 is requested to setup the landing zone. Control is asking which service to send and is not getting an immediate response.

11:26: Control is still attempting to confirm which air service and 64-1 now states if they’re on the phone with LifeFlight to send LifeFlight. 52-1 and 52-2 both state they are about 5 minutes out.

11:29: Station 24 is being toned out.

11:30: 52-1 is on scene. 64-1 states they’ll use the parking lot of Lake Arthur Estates. Station 24 acknowledges the call. LF-4 is airborne from the Butler Airport. Control is advising Station 24 that Chief 13 is on scene with EMS.

11:31: 52-2 is arriving on location.

11:32: 64-1 is asking Control if Station 24 has acknowledged and is advised they have; Control is also asked to notify the flight crew they will need airway equipment off the helicopter.

11:36: The pilot is now requesting his LZ briefing. Control is advising units on scene that since acknowledgement, there hasn’t been contact with Station 24.

11:37: RQ-24 is now stating they’re almost to the LZ; C-13 is also heading there.

11:38: Control is contacting LF-4 who states they do not have visual on the LZ but the coordinates indicate they are overhead now. Control advises RQ-24 is en route now and the pilot states he will hold position over the given coordinates until he can make contact with a ground crew.

11:39: 64-1 is transporting to the LZ. RQ-24 is speaking with the pilot now.

11:40: The ambulance is out at the LZ.

11:44: LF-4 is now marked on the ground.

12:30: No further updates yet. The helicopter has not departed the landing zone at Lake Arthur Estates.

12:54: RQ-24 is back in service reporting LF-4 is departing for AGH. The helicopter is airborne from the LZ.

13:02: Both 52 units and 64-1 are back in service.

13:11: LF-4 is arriving on the helipad at Allegheny General.
