Motorcycle MVA: Centreville Pike @ Sanderson

18:10: Stations 33 and 52 dispatched for a motorcycle wreck near 117 Sanderson Drive in Slippery Rock Township. There is reportedly 1 female unconscious.

18:11: 52-2 is responding; they’re advised this is closer to Sanderson Drive and Centreville Pike.

18:12: Chief 33 is en route. 52-2 is requesting the availability of air medical.

18:13: Engine 33-2 is en route.

18:15: C-33 on scene with 1 motorcycle on its side, 1 patient on the ground. PSP to be advised Centreville Pike will be shut down. 52-2 is arriving on scene.

18:16: Control advising Stat 8 is on standby with a 5-10 minute ETA. TR-33 responding.

18:18: EN-33-2 is on location.

18:20: TR-33 is directed to the entrance to the YMCA park to setup a landing zone. C-33 is requesting the helicopter in the air.

18:22: TR-33 is asking which entrance to the park; Command is advising the field near the north entrance. TR-33 is at the LZ. Stat 8 has been notified per Control.

18:23: Command is checking the ETA of PSP.

18:24: Control advises PSP is 5 minutes out.

18:26: Stat is airborne from the Grove City Airport.

18:27: The pilot is reporting 2 minutes out.

18:28: TR-33 is giving the pilot’s LZ briefing; the pilot has visual on the lights.

18:29: The ground crew reports they’re at the helicopter’s 12:00 position; the pilot states he is looking for the LZ now.

18:30: The pilot is asking if they’re to land in the field or along the roadway; TR-33 only replies “affirmative.” C-33 is directing the aircraft away from the scene toward the park. There’s some confusion on where the helicopter was intended to land.

18:31: Stat 8 is marked on the ground at the scene.

18:40: C-33 states Stat 8 is airborne to UPMC Presby; all units remain on scene for traffic control at this time.

18:54: 52-2 is clear of the LZ.

18:55: Command terminated; all units are back in service.

18:57: Stat 8 is at the helipad in Pittsburgh.
