Motorcycle MVA: Grove City Road

23:48: Stations 33 and 52 dispatched for an MVA with a motorcycle near Troy Allen, 217 Grove City Rd, Slippery Rock Boro. Rider is down on the ground; Control is still obtaining additional information.

23:50: Chief 33 acknowledges the call. Control is now advising the male is down, unresponsive, but believed to be breathing; they are asking if C-33 wants Superior Ambulance started that way and he states to do so and check the availability of air medical. Control is now advising that 52-2 is clearing a previous call with a patient refusal and will be responding.

23:51: C-33 is on scene with Command. The entire roadway will be shut down for now.

23:52: 52-2 and Engine 33-2 are en route.

23:53: EN-33-2 is instructed to pull up next to C-33’s vehicle upon their arrival; they are now reporting on scene as well.

23:54: 52-2 is approaching, requesting orders without response, and reporting on scene.

23:55: Control advises Stat MedEvac 8 is on standby with a 9 minute ETA if needed. 52-2 will advise. C-33 is asking the status of the helicopter and Control states they gave the band field at SRU as the landing zone for now. C-33 states he will update in a second.

23:56: 52-1 is also responding now. C-33 is now requesting the helicopter in the air and his station re-tripped for manpower. Control is asking to confirm the landing zone and C-33 states they will use the Giant Eagle parking lot. Station 33 is now re-alerted. 52-1 is reporting on scene and is instructed by Command to shut the roadway down.

23:58: Control is advising that Stat 8 is clear for weather and will be inbound to the Giant Eagle parking lot with a 9 minute ETA. There has been no other acknowledgment from Station 33. C-33 states he will put together a crew.

00:03: EN-33(-2?) is en route to setup the LZ. They’re to come down North Main Street onto Kelly Blvd into the parking lot.

00:08: Stat 8 is contacting the ground crew but possibly not hearing their response.

00:09: The pilot states he is overhead now looking for his LZ briefing; C-33 states he has visual on the helicopter and is giving the brief. This will be in the Giant Eagle parking lot, right behind the Rite-Aid building.

00:11: C-33 is now reporting Stat 8 is on the ground.

00:18: C-33 is asking Control to relay to PD(?) that the patient will be transported to Presby.

00:26: C-33 states the helicopter is airborne and Station 33 is back in service.

00:29: 52-2 is back in service.
