MVA: I-79 Ramp

18:59: Stations 21 and 51 dispatched to the area of the off-ramp from the turnpike onto I-79 northbound; there is a Schwan’s truck off the road with the driver sill inside. Chief 21 and 51-4 are en route.

19:00: Rescue 21 en route.

19:03: 51-4 is diverting to a medical call and asking for this incident to be turned over to mutual aid.

19:03: C-21 is on location with Command. The information in the dispatch is confirmed but all occupants appear to be out this time.

19:04: Control is asking for C-21 to advise on injuries before another station is alerted; he states there are 2 Nova EMS units already on scene. Chief 21-2 is responding.

19:05: R-21 is being instructed to assist with traffic on the ramp and is now reporting on location.

19:06: Station 21 is asking Command if any additional apparatus are needed and is advised they have sufficient resources on scene and will just be awaiting a tow. Command is asking Control to verify PSP is en route so that they can get a tow started. Control is asking for the exact location as this makes a difference who gets called; C-21 states it is “probably on the turnpike,” they are, “just past the entrance to get on.” There is also no need for EMS.

19:08: Control states the turnpike has everyone responding as needed already.

19:09: C-21 states he sees no need for FD; Station 21 units are back in service.
