Woods, Corn Field Fire: Slippery Rock Rd

14:03: Stations 33, 13, and 52 dispatched for woods and a cornfield on fire at 427 Slippery Rock Rd, Slippery Rock Twp.

14:04: Stations 33 and 52 acknowledge the call.

14:05: 52-2 is en route.

14:06: Control is checking for acknowledgment from Station 13 and they acknowledge the call.

14:10: Station 13 requests a re-trip for manpower.

14:11: Chief 33 is asking Control how many calls have been received on this; only 1 so far. 52-2 is on scene with about 2 acres burning.

14:12: Brush 33 is en route.

14:13: Someone is advising 52-2 that the yard is pretty soft, the brush truck will have to come up to the driveway, but he doesn’t think they’ll make it up into the yard; the fire is moving up toward the wood line. Lawrence County Station 1500 is requested by C-33 for their brush truck and UTV. 52-2 is advising C-33 the header of the fire is moving toward the woods.

14:14: B-33 is advised to go past 52-2 and they’ll see the road, they are to come up the road and catch the header, it’s almost into the woods. They’re reporting 2 minutes out.

14:15: Control states 1500 has been alerted. Station 13 has acknowledged but is not en route. B-33 is reporting on location.

14:16: C-33 is asking if Station 14 was alerted for this call or a medical and it was a medical. E-33 is approaching. They are to park on the hard road and send their crew up.

14:17: E-33 is now reporting on location. Brush 13 is en route.

14:20: Tanker 33 is on scene.

14:21: T-33 is to stage by the Engine and send their manpower up.

14:24: Control states 1500 is asking if their Brush or UTV is needed first; their UTV is requested first followed by the Brush.

14:25: C-33 is asking C-33-2 where the fire is; he states this hasn’t made it over the hill yet but the wind has picked up. Brush 13 is being instructed not to go into the field but to stretch a line into the cornfield.

14:28: C-33 is instructing T-33 to proceed up a lane and begin to stretch some trash lines.

14:29: C-33 is advising LEOC to hold Station 1500 units on their station at this time.

14:30: B-13 is on scene.

14:34: Slippery Rock Road Command is marking the fire under control. They are checking for hotspots.

14:42: Command is terminated; Stations 33 and 13 are back in service.
