MVA: Rowan Rd near Hope Lutheran Church

06:01: Stations 21 and 51 alerted for an MVA with unknown injuries near 8070 Rowan Road near Lutheran Church; reportedly 2 vehicles involved in a head-on collision.

06:03: 51-2 and Captain 21-2 are responding.

06:04: Chief 21-2 is en route.

06:05: Rescue 21 is en route.

06:07: 51-2 is on scene confirming 2 vehicles, head on, and it appears there is still 1 occupant in a vehicle. R-21 is also arriving on location, and Cap-21-2 is arriving, assuming Command.

06:09: C-21-2 is on location.

06:10: Station 62 is being requested for an additional EMS unit and they are added to the call. Chief 21-2 is being asked to pull his vehicle past the incident and help block off and turn around traffic. Fire Police are being instructed to setup at the Rowan Elementary School and get all traffic turned around; the road will be fully closed until this is clear.

06:11: Fire Police are arriving on scene.

06:13: Additional FP units are responding. Second alert for Station 62; 62-4 is now reporting en route.

06:15: The incoming FP are instructed to setup at La Grande Drive to assist with turning traffic around.

06:24: 62-4 is approaching, requesting orders, and is instructed to come past the first command vehicle near the entrance to the church; the patient is waiting there.

06:25: 51-2 is transporting 1 patient to Allegheny General Hospital.

06:34: 62-4 is en route to UPMC Cranberry.

06:37: A FP unit is asking if someone can get access to Fox Run Road and is advised they can; they will make their way around via North Boundary and Peters Roads.

06:40: 62-4 is arriving at the hospital.

06:44: FP are advising Command of 2 tow trucks approaching the scene.

06:48: FP are stating PD has informed them it shouldn’t be too much longer.

06:50: 51-2 is out at AGH.

06:59: FP are now being advised the second vehicle is on the tow and there’s a little bit of cleanup remaining.

07:05: FP are being instructed to pickup and open the road.

07:06: Rowan Road Command terminated; Station 21 units are back in service.
