Street Sweeper vs Box Truck, Entrapment

10:00: Stations 42, 21, 19 and 76, along with Allegheny Station 228, dispatched to Route 228 at Adams Ridge Boulevard for a street sweeper that struck a box truck with 1 person entrapped.

10:01: Engine 19 is responding. 228 Rescue acknowledges the call..

10:01: 76-1 and 76-3 and Chief 42-2 are en route.

10:02: Rescue 42 is responding.

10:03: Squad 98 was passing through and is reporting on scene. Rescue 21 is en route. Chief 42-2 is on location with a commercial vehicle on a hillside with 1 entrapped.

10:04: Allegheny 228 Rescue is en route. Squad 98 is advising 76 units they have a female patient with her leg pinned between the door and the steering wheel; she is alert and oriented with no other complaints at this time.

10:05: Command is stating they have a female trapped in the street sweeper in a bad position; he is advising Rescue 42 they will have to remove a windshield, a door, and a steering wheel.

10:06: 76-3 is having Control check the availability of Stat 3 at UPMC Cranberry. Allegheny 228 Engine is responding. Command is having Engine 19 shut down Route 228 and divert traffic down Adams Ridge Boulevard. Rescue 21 is asking Control to re-dispatch their station for additional manpower and they are re-alerted.

10:07: Rescue 42 is on scene.

10:08: Control is advising Stat 3 is on standby at their base.

10:12: Squad 21-2 is en route.

10:13: Allegheny County units are on scene.

10:14: Route 228 Command is advising extrication is complete.

10:15: Command is canceling units not on scene; Squad 21-2 is back in service.

10:19: Rescue 21 is in service, returning to station.

10:24: 76-3 is transporting 1 patient to AGH and 76-1 is back in service canceling the aircraft request.

10:27: Squad 98 is back in service.

10:50: 76-3 is out at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

10:55: Engine 19 is clearing this incident to respond to an automatic fire alarm.

10:57: Chief 42-2 is now also responding to the fire alarm.

11:26: Route 228 Command is terminated; all units are clear of the scene.
