Vehicle Fire, Shady Oak Drive

10:23: Stations 21 and 51 dispatched for a Vogel Disposal garbage truck on fire on Shady Oak Drive in Cranberry Township. The truck is reportedly fueled by natural gas, but the load is what is on fire. Station 21 acknowledges the call.

10:24: Chief 41 and 51-1 are en route.

10:25: Engine 21-2 is en route. Station 42 is advising Chief 21-2 that they have a crew for their engine if needed.

10:26: A chief is asking Engine 42 to proceed – unclear which one is replying.

10:27: Chief 41 is reporting a header from a few miles out and is requesting Station 90 structure fire response.

10:28: Station 90 is alerted. Control is now advising that police are on scene stating the truck is smoking from the rear. Chief 41 is now on scene with Command instructing Engine 21-2 to stop at the nearest hydrant and lay in, confirming the load in the back of the truck is burning. Engine 19(?) is en route.

10:30: Station 22 acknowledges the call. Engine 21-2 is on scene. Squad 21-2 is en route.

10:31: Command is instructing incoming units to stage on Royal Oak Court. 51-1 is on scene.

10:32: Station 20 acknowledges the call.

10:33: Engine 19 is on scene. Command is asking for public works to respond.

10:34: Engine 42 is on scene.

10:35: Command is advising public works will be en route. Tanker 20 and Squad 22-2 are responding. Command is also requesting Vogel Disposal be contacted to request roll-off dumpsters to assist with managing the load.

10:38: Control is advising Command that Vogel Disposal will be en route. Control is downgrading all units to non-emergency but states they do need manpower for overhaul.

10:39: Squad 21-2 is on scene.

10:42: Tanker 20 is approaching.

10:43: Tanker 20 is on location.

10:48: Tanker 20 and possibly other units are breaking off to cover an automatic fire alarm call that was dispatched for Stations 42 and 19.

10:53: A tow truck and a dump truck are arriving on scene now.

11:13: Command is placing all units with the exception of Station 21 back in service.

12:13: Fire Police units are still on scene and stating they are waiting for a street sweeper at this time.

12:32: Command is terminated; all units are back in service.
