MVA: Evans City Road at Buhl Road, 2 DOA

10:45: Stations 20, 12, and 62 dispatched for an MVA with unknown injuries at the intersection of Evans City Road and Buhl Road in Forward Township involving two vehicles head-on.

10:47: Chief 20-2 is responding: Control advises that a firefighter from Station 12 is already on scene reporting that there are possibly 2 patients DOA (dead-on-arrival) and one vehicle is smoking.

10:48: Station 22 is advising C-20-2 that they have a crew on station; C-20-2 requests they start their Rescue.

10:49: Second alert for Station 12 due to no acknowledgment.

10:51: C-20-2 is arriving on scene reporting the roadway is completely blocked; he’ll be investigating.

10:52: Command reports extrication is needed from both vehicles. Air medical requested on standby by EMS.

10:53: Rescue 20 is on location.

10:54: Command is now updating there are 2 patients; HEAVY ENTRAPMENT.

10:55: EMS is ensuring air medical is on standby; Control states he is on the phone with them now. Per Command, the patient count is being updated to TWO PATIENTS, CONFIRMED DOA. 62-2 is arriving on scene.

10:56: 62-(5?) is requesting Squad 98 for assistance; Control is also advising that Command reported 2 patients DOA.

10:57: Squad 98 is being added to the incident.

10:58: RQ-22 can go back in service at this time, per Command.

10:59: Command is advising RQ-22 they can stage their apparatus to stand by to cover the area, if they wish, as Stations 20 and 12 will be active on the MVA for an extended period. 62-5 is releasing SQ-98; they will not be needed.

11:01: Air medical can stand down per EMS.

12:08: Fire Police have a PennDOT crew on location with orders to close Route 68 at Buhl Road, but they’re currently shut down at Ash Stop Road. Command recommends they keep the closure point at Ash Stop for now.

12:57: Fire Police have turned over Ash Stop @ Rt 68 to a PennDOT Crew and are proceeding up to another intersection to assist.
