Structure Fire: Slippery Rock Boro

16:56: Stations 33, 34, 14, 13, 1 (for TR-1), and 52 dispatched to 168 S. Main Street in Slippery Rock Borough. A resident is reporting smoke in the building with audible alarms in the background of the call.

16:57: 52-2, Chief 33, and Tower 1 are responding.

16:58: 52-2 is on scene with smoke showing from the front of the structure. C-33 requests Station 37 for a full assist, and Stations 3 and 77 for their aerials.

16:59: 52-2 is advising C-33 they have smoke coming out the door on the Alpha side.

17:00: Station 3 is being alerted for their Ladder.

17:01: C-33 reports a 2-story commercial structure with smoke showing; they’re stretching a 1¾” line.

17:02: Command requests the 2nd alarm assignment and Station 33 reactivated for a working fire. C-42-2 is offering assistance and Command is asking them to start his way.

17:04: TR-1 is to set up on Grange Alley on the Bravo side of the structure. RQ-42 is responding.

17:06: EN-14-2 is being instructed to stop near Bob’s Sub at the hydrant and stand by for TR-1, then lay a line down into them. Any manpower is to be sent to EN-33.

17:07: Stations 52 and 73 are being alerted for a Delta response for a female patient nearby having a reaction to the smoke from this incident. Interior crews are reporting they’re on the 1st Division, B-side, with heavy smoke, but they can’t locate the source. Command is now instructing EN-14-2 to pull an additional cross-lay off the back of (EN-33?) and head up to the 2nd Division. Tanker 13 is responding.

17:08: Lawrence 1505 is asking Command which unit he needs; they’re to send an Engine.

17:09: EN-34 is approaching; they’re to stand by at the hydrant and send their manpower to Command.

17:10: (C-14-2?) is stating they will not be responding to a medical call that was dispatched for Stations 99 and 14. He’s also requesting his station be re-alerted for additional manpower for the fire.

17:11: Station 24 is offering a staffed Engine; Command says, “Go ahead and send it.” Engine 24 is en route.

17:12: Mercer Truck-77 is responding. RQ-14 called en route to a medical call; they’re being redirected to the fire.

17:13: Control is asking if anyone on scene made contact with the medical patient nearby as she is apparently having some difficulty; Superior is en route. Command states they did not; they’re tied up at the moment.

17:14: Medic-956 is responding to assist Superior with the medical call.

17:16: TR-1 is on the approach; they’re still to take Grange Alley and send the Tower up to the roof. EN-13 is to stage and send their manpower to Command.

17:17: TR-1 and EN-13 are on scene.

17:18: RQ-14 is to stage out of the way and send their manpower. 73-102 is on scene for the nearby medical.

17:20: LR-3 is to nose into EN-33; they’re to take the A-B corner with their aerial. Medic 956 is helping 73-102 find their patient.

17:22: LR-33 is on scene. Lawrence County Unit 1541 is to proceed to the rear of the structure.

17:25: Command is requesting Superior EMS or Butler Ambulance for a rehab unit and an ALS unit due to the heat conditions.

17:28: EN-24 is on scene.

17:29: All units not instructed otherwise are to stage in the parking lot of Station 33 and send their crew to Command.

17:30: C-42-2 requests Station 2 be placed on standby in their station for that area.

17:35: Units are being told they need to do a “solid sweep” of the back right apartment. C-13 is advising Command they located some hotspots on the 1st Division, C-D corner.

17:36: Roof crews report 1 hole opened with a light haze pushing out at this time. They’re to monitor it at this time. C-37-2 reports 2nd Division is clear.

17:37: Crews are to bring up fans to begin ventilation. Command reports the fire is under control and overhaul is in progress.

17:39: Crews have searched the aforementioned apartment and state is appears no one has been home; it is all clear.

17:43: Roof crews are reporting the smoke is dissipating; they’re to continue monitoring for 5 minutes before coming down.

17:49: Command is requesting Control have the power company do a remote disconnect for the property.

17:52: Control is on the line with the power company who is asking how many meters are on the building and which ones need shut off. Command states anything at the address of 168 South Main Street.

17:53: Command states the property manager was able to confirm that there is only 1 meter for the building.

17:58: Crews are reporting smoke conditions continue to dissipate. Command is going to return RQ-3 to the area of Station 14 for coverage.

18:02: Command requests the PSP Fire Marshall respond to the scene.

18:03: The power company attempted the remote disconnect. Command reports they still have power.

18:04: Command requests the water authority respond.

18:21: Per C-42-2, they are clear of the fire and returning to their area.

18:28: LR-3 is returning, in service.

18:31: All Lawrence Station 1500 units are back in service.

18:34: Station 77 units are back in service.

18:35: TR-1 is back in service.

18:44: Station 85 is back in service.

19:00: Incident terminated. All remaining units are back in service.
