2nd Alarm Garage Fire: Winfield Road

15:38: Stations 27, 15, and 45, along with Armstrong Station 220, dispatched to 1085 Winfield Rd, Winfield Twp, for a garage on fire approximately 25-50′ from the residence.

15:39: Control is advising C-27 that the caller wants him to know there is a 20lb propane tank inside the garage.

15:41: Safety-15 is reporting a heavy column of smoke on his approach. C-27 is about 2 miles out with heavy smoke; he’s requesting his second alarm.

15:42: Stations 10, 36, and 9, along with 251 and 130, alerted.

15:44: C-27 is on scene with a 20’x30′ garage fully-involved and endangering the residence.

15:46: Engine 10 is responding.

15:48: Tankers 27 and 15 are en route.

15:49: EN-27 is instructed to take the first line off to hit the exposure to the house and the second line off to the garage. The next-due Engine is to stage at the end of the driveway to help pull lines.

15:50: EMS is instructed to stage for rehab. Lieutenant 9 is requesting his station be re-alerted for manpower.

15:51: 45-3 and EN-27 are on location. Armstrong 250-Engine and 250-Tanker, along with Ladder 36, are responding.

15:52: Engine 9 is en route; EN-15-2 is on location.

15:55: TN-27 is on scene; they’re instructed to pull behind EN-15-2 and keep their crew to tie into EN-15-2.

15:56: 250-TN is to (stage and send their manpower to Command?).

15:58: EN-10 is to stage and send their manpower up; they’re on scene. SQ-15-2 is to start one-lane traffic control. Control is doing a status check; Command reports they have the bulk of the fire under control and the exposure is contained.

16:00: Command wants to hold Stations 9 and 36 in station if they’re not en route, but Control advises they do have units already responding. Per Command, EN-9 is to stage at Station 10 and LR-36 is to stage at Station 27.

16:05: TN-10 is instructed to pull in and stage.

16:17: Control is conducting a 40-minute status check with no immediate response from Command.

16:29: Armstrong 250-EN and 250-TN are returning in service.

16:36: EN-9 is released from their standby; Station 10 units will be returning.

16:37: LR-36 is also released from standby.

16:41: EN-10 is back in service; TN-10 will remain on scene at this time.

17:02: All remaining Station 10 units are back in service.

17:21: Armstrong Station 220 units are clear.

17:23: 45-3 is back in service.

17:24: All Station 15 units are clear.

17:31: Incident terminated. All remaining units are back in service.
