20:04: Stations 24, 13, and 62 dispatched for an MVA with injuries near the 97 MM of I-79 NB. One male was ejected, and is bleeding from the head. There is a nurse on scene. This is ~1 mile north of the Portersville / Rt 488 exit.
20:06: All units are advised there are 2 patients, and both are alert.
20:10: An unidentified unit is requesting a helicopter on standby.
20:12: RQ-24 is out with a single vehicle rolled over in the median.
20:14: Station 24 units will be coming off Rt 488; Command wants them to stop at the turnaround and push all northbound traffic to the right/slow lane. BR-24 is to go to (Rt 422?) and move southbound traffic into the right/slow lane on the other side (both directions will be 1-lane, outbound of the incident in the median).
20:15: 62 unit is advised there’s 1 male and 1 female patient, and they’re asking if there’s a 2nd EMS unit responding; there are no additional units responding yet. A 2nd one is requested by Command. 62-2 is on location.
20:16: Station 62 is being toned out for a 2nd unit.
20:18: Station 62 is being alerted for an unrelated medical call; unknown how many units they have on duty.
20:20: Station 99 is being alerted for the MVA, but states they do not have a unit available for the call.
20:21: Station 51 is being dispatched to the MVA. 51-1 is responding.
20:23: Command is requesting the helicopter in the air with the LZ as Station 24. Command states they’ll have personnel there to land it.
20:24: EN-13 is being instructed to shut down the interstate so the ambulance can get out.
20:25: TN-13 is being instructed to position at the 97.6 and push traffic to the right lane for the time being.
20:26: 62-2 is transporting to the LZ at Station 24.
20:27: 62-2 reports the patient is a 36 year old male with “significant chest injuries.” TN-13 is reporting on scene.
20:28: Control is advising the ground crew that it will be Stat MedEvac 8 with an ETA of approximately 5 minutes; they’re taking off from Grove City Airport (29D) now.
20:31: Command is advising 51-5 that they’re at the 97.4 MM and they’re to pull in front of RQ-24 on arrival.
20:32: The pilot is requesting his LZ briefing.
20:35: Stat 8 is on the ground at Station 24.
20:27: 51-5 is on location.
20:46: 51-5 is transporting the 2nd patient to Allegheny General Hospital.
20:55: The ground crew is reporting Stat 8 is in the air.
20:59: Stat 8 is airborne to Pittsburgh.
21:00: Station 24 units are clear of I-79.
21:01: Station 13 units are also reporting clear; the incident is terminated.
