MVA w/ Entrapment: Benbrook @ Sunset

16:16: Stations 14 and 99 dispatched to the intersection of Sunset Drive and North Benbrook Road in Center Township for a 2-vehicle MVA with injury.

16:17: Chief 14-2 acknowledges the call. 99-5 is assigned and en route Chief 14-3 and Captain 14 are responding to the scene.

16:21: 99-5 and C-14-3 are on location. Rescue 14 is responding; Commander 14 is advising they will need a driver’s side door pop. The patient is conscious.

16:22: RQ-14 is advised this is on Sunset Drive, just south of the intersection; they are pull up directly next to the crash. C-14-3 is now requesting the nearest aircraft in the air to the fixed LZ at Station 14.

16:23: RQ-14 now advised they’ll need a side removal and dash lift. RQ-14 on scene.

16:25: EN-14-2 is out at their LZ.

16:28: Per Control, LifeFlight 4 is airborne and en route to Station 14. They are currently at their base at Butler Airport.

16:33: Command is marking patient extrication complete.

16:36: LF-4 is now departing the airport.

16:41: The helicopter is crossing Rt 422 at the Rt 356 cloverleaf; the pilot is now contacting the ground crew reporting 1½ minutes out.

16:43: The pilot and ground crew report visual contact.

16:45: LF-4 is being marked on the ground.

16:56: 99-5 reports patient care has been transferred, and LF-4 will be en route to AGH. 99-5 remains out of service for decontamination at this time.

17:00: EN-14-2 reports LifeFlight airborne; they are back in service.

17:33: Command terminated; all FD units are back in service.
