Major MVA w/ Entrapment: ProGas, Rt 68

15:50: Stations 22, 20, 21, and 62 dispatched for an MVA with entrapment in front of ProGas, 2314 Evans City Road, Jackson Township. Vehicle rollover. Multiple patients, believed 2 unresponsive per a nurse on scene.

15:51: 62-6 acknowledges the call and is en route; they are asking Control to find them another unit. Chiefs 22, 21-2, and 21 are responding. Chief 33 (Slippery Rock) is on scene with 3 vehicles, reporting heavy entrapment in one.

15:52: C-33 is advising 1 passenger car with heavy entrapment and 1 pickup also with entrapment, overturned; at least 3 ambulances are needed for now, ALS. Station 51 is being added. Engine 22-3 and 51-4 are responding. Control is asking if Station 51 has a second unit and they do.

15:53: 51-3 is responding. Command is asking Control to check the availability of an aircraft; C-22 wants them to check both Stat and LifeFlight. 62-6 is now reporting they are en route with Squad 98.

15:54: C-22 is advised they will need to take the roof of the car, and do a dash lift. Rescues 42 and 19 are requested by C-22. 62-2 is en route. Stations 42 and 19 are being alerted.

15:55: Rescue 20 is responding. EN-22-3 is on scene; C-22 is on scene assuming Command. Control advises he has LF-4 on standby with a 10 minute ETA and four ALS ambulances en route along with Squad 98.

15:56: Engine 19 is en route; 62-6 is on scene.

15:57: Command is reporting they have a single patient entrapped at this time, and 4 other patients. Control states Stat MedEvac 3 is also standing by with an 8 minute ETA, in addition to LF-4.

15:58: RQ-20 is to come all the way up to the crash and nose in where they’re working on the entrapment. 62-2 is approaching and is to pull up behind their other ambulance; their patient is on the opposite side of the crash. C-21-2 is on scene.

15:59: RQ-42 is en route. 62-2 and RQ-20 are on location. Chief 76-2 states he is moving an ambulance into the area for coverage due to the other units being committed.

16:00: Chief 21 states he has contacted Beaver Station 26 directly to fill his station. Control states Stat 3 will be the 1st aircraft inbound in 8 minutes to Glick (2348 Evans City Rd). C-21 is being asked to coordinate the LZ.

16:01: RQ-21 and 51-4 are approaching; 51-4 is advised they’ll be assigned a patient and is now reporting on scene. EN-19 is to pull up behind RQ-20.

16:02: EN-19 is on scene; 51-3 is approaching.

16:03: 51-3 is on location. Stat 3 is airborne from their base at UPMC Cranberry.

16:04: Command states he has 4 patients and all are with EMS. Patient extrication is complete at this time. RQ-42 is now released.

16:05: Stat 3 is contacting the landing zone now.

16:06: Stat 3 reports a minute out. They are familiar with this LZ. Fire Police are arriving; they are to close Route 68 at either Hartman Road or Rt 528.

16:07: C-21 has visual on the helicopter. Command is asking to confirm they only have 1 helicopter coming as he has 2 overhead. Control states they’ve only dispatched 1 helicopter, but LF-4 is now reporting they’re airborne in the area as well. (LF-4 was airborne from the Butler Airport as of 15:55, headed northeast until 16:00.)

16:09: The ambulance is en route to the LZ now; C-21 is asking them to standby as the helicopter is coming down now.

16:10: Beaver EN-26 is en route to Station 21 for the standby. 62-6 is out at the LZ. Stat 3 is being marked on the ground.

16:17: Control states LifeFlight Control still has LF-4 in the area and is asking if they will be needed. Command is checking, but doesn’t believe so.

16:18: LF-4 is now released.

16:22: EN-26 is out at Station 21.

16:26: RQ-20 is clear of the scene.

16:29: RQ-21 has now been released by Command. C-21 is reporting Stat 3 in the air.

16:37: Beaver County units are being released from their standby at Station 21.

16:42: Stat 3 is on the helipad at UPMC Presbyterian.

16:44: 51-3 is reporting they are en route for an ALS assist to 64-1 in Muddy Creek Twp. The helicopter for KDKA is overhead of the MVA.

16:45: The 76 unit in the area is being cleared to return to their own area now.

16:46: 51-3 is requesting further details on 64-1’s call; they report they have a (15?) minute ETA. 51-4 is back in service from the scene of the MVA.

16:48: EN-19 is back in service.

16:57: 51-3 is reporting on scene of the other call.

17:05: 64-1 reports they are en route to UPMC Cranberry, ALS, from the medical call.

17:07: 62-2 and SQ-98 are back in service from the scene.

17:10: There was no other call for Station 51 between the ALS assist and now; 51-3 is now reporting they are clear from “the scene” and following “61-4” (64-1?) — their medic is onboard that unit.

17:17: Station 22 units are clear of the MVA.

17:20: SQ-20 is being cleared to open up Evans City Road now.
