Motorcycle Crash: Simon Drive, Jefferson Twp

16:33: Stations 15 and 45 dispatched for a motorcycle into some rocks, reported by a third party, in the area of 144 Simon Drive, Jefferson Twp, about a mile off Rt 356.

16:34: Station 45 acknowledges the call.

16:36: Second alert for Station 15 due to no acknowledgment.

16:37: 45-2 is responding. Control is now advising it is near 144 Simon Drive. Station 15 acknowledges the call.

16:38: Chief 15-2 is en route.

16:41: Rescue 15 is responding.

16:42: Control advises PSP is on scene reporting they’ve applied a tourniquet to the patient’s leg. 45-2 is requesting the availability of an aircraft. Station 10 is being requested by C-15-2 to assist with a possible landing zone.

16:44: Station 10 is being alerted.

16:45: Chief 10 acknowledges the call. Units are on scene reporting a motorcycle off the roadway with 1 male ejected. Station 10 acknowledges the call.

16:46: Control states LifeFlight 4 is standing by with an ETA of 10 minutes, if needed.

16:47: 45-2 is checking the helicopter status again and it is now requested into the scene. They’ll be landed there “somewhere.”

16:48: RQ-15 is approaching, requesting orders. They are to send their manpower with a backboard and a stretcher from the ambulance. Engine 10 is en route. RQ-15 is now reporting on scene.

16:50: Control is advising EN-10 of the aircraft’s ETA.

16:51: C-15-2 is advising EN-10 to go past Simon Drive to the Crosswinds Alliance Church for the LZ. SQ-15-2 is approaching and is instructed to shut the roadway down.

16:52: SQ-15-2 is on scene.

16:53: LF-4 is airborne from their base at the Butler Airport.

16:54: EN-10 is on scene at the church.

16:55: LF-4 is now contacting the landing zone for an LZ briefing reporting 1½ out.

16:57: The ground crew and the pilot have visual on each other; the helicopter will be doing an orbit before landing.

16:58: The helicopter is over the scene of the incident and is being advised by EN-10 to proceed west to the LZ. The helicopter is now heading west away from the area.

16:59: The pilot is northwest of the landing zone, advising he is still looking. The ground crew is now guiding him in.

17:00: LF-4 is now orbiting the area of LZ.

17:01: There was apparently a piece of plastic near the LZ that needed moved. The helicopter is still circling.

17:02: EN-10 is advising LF-4 they can return.

17:04: EN-10 is now marking LF-4 on the ground.

17:05: EN-10 is asking C-15-2 for an ETA on the patient; they’re advised they’ll be en route in a minute.

17:08: 45-2 is en route to the landing zone.

17:10: 45-2 is out at the LZ.

17:13: 45-2 is asking if Control has the time PSP reportedly applied the tourniquet.

17:14: Control is reporting they were advised of the tourniquet at 16:41.

17:16: RQ-15 is asking C-15-2 if someone can bring the duty buggy to the church to take the LifeFlight crew back to their base.

17:23: LF-4 is airborne to Allegheny General.

17:29: 45-2 is clear of the LZ, but remaining out of service for decontamination at this time.

17:54: Station 15 is clear of the scene.
