06:23: Stations 13 and 99 dispatched for an MVA w/ entrapment, 930 New Castle Rd, Franklin Twp in front of the Longhorn Corral. Reported head-on with one patient trapped, unresponsive. 99-5 is assigned.
06:25: 99-5 is responding and asking Control to check the availability of air medical and place them on standby.
06:27: Lt-13-3 is on scene; there is 1 vehicle in the eastbound lane and 1 vehicle in the parking lot on its side. Engine 13 is responding.
06:29: Command is instructing EN-13 to pull in front of a white pickup truck on their arrival. Per Control, LifeFlight 4 is on standby with a 12 minute ETA if needed. 99-5 is asking Command if a second ambulance will be needed and is advised negative.
06:30: EN-13 is on location.
06:31: 99-21 is approaching the scene. They’re advised there is 1 patient — the transmission is not totally clear but he mentions “heavy equipment” and “broken arm.”
06:32: 99-21 is on scene. Brush 13 is being instructed to standby, possibly for traffic control. 99-5 is also arriving.
06:40: 99-5 is canceling the helicopter.
06:50: A Fire Police unit is stating he has at his location both a parent of an involved party and an additional ambulance crew member offering assistance. FP is instructed to hold both of them for now.
06:54: 99-5 is transporting 1 patient, ALS, to Butler Hospital.
07:01: FP is advising Command he has the parent of the person who was in the white truck; he is to be advised his son was transported to BMH.
07:05: 99-5 is out at the hospital.
07:25: Command is advising Control to notify PennDOT of a road closure.
07:27: 99-5 is back in service from the hospital.
08:00: The township reportedly has the road blocked off with cones at 84 Lumber now.
08:05: Control is asking Command how traffic is being detoured and is advised Old Route 422.
08:53: PennDOT is on location with FP to take over the road closure. FP are to move to the old Trader Horn and standby there for now.
09:07: FP are advising Command that someone is coming down who was supposed to be waiting at the old Trader Horn awaiting a trooper.
09:10: Command is instructing the FP unit to make sure “absolutely nobody gets through to come down to this accident scene.”
09:13: The FP unit is stating two wreckers are on location and is asking where they’re needed; they’re to be sent to the scene at this time.
09:30: Lt-13 is being told he can pull the engine down in front of an unmarked PD vehicle.
09:34: The FP unit is advising Command that a representative from the coroner’s office is on her way down now.
10:15: There have been no further updates from this incident.
10:42: Command is instructing BR-13 and FP to release their traffic. New Castle Road Command is terminated. Station 13 is back in service.
