MVA: I-79 NB @ 98.4 MM

10:43: Stations 24, 13 and 64 dispatched for an MVA on I-79 NB @ 98.4 MM. There is a jackknifed tractor-trailer.

10:44: R-24 is en route. Station 13 acknowledges.

10:50: 64-2 is responding.

10:51: Engine 13 is en route.

10:53: R-24 on location.

10:54: Traffic is going to be diverted off the interstate at Route 488.

10:58: 64-2 is checking with R-24 on injuries as they are stuck in the traffic backlog. R-24 states the driver needs evaluation only.

11:03: E-13 is on location.

11:04: Captain 24 on scene is requesting his station’s tones for an additional unit to close the northbound entrance to I-79 at Route 488. 64-2 is on location.

11:05: Station 24 is re-alerted. E-13 is advising Cap-24 they are diverting traffic onto Route 488, northbound, and they have I-79 blocked.

11:18: Captain 24 is checking with Control if his station acknowledged for a second unit and is told they have not. He is requesting PennDOT be notified for assistance.

11:20: Control states PennDOT advised they have an individual on scene and will try to reach him.

11:34: Brush 24 is en route to or on location at the Route 488 junction (the transmission was clipped).

11:52: 64-2 is clear and in service.

12:13: E-13 is instructed to reopen the road and return in service.

12:24: E-13 is now reporting back in service.

12:59: R-24 is reporting all units are now clear of the interstate.
