14:20: Stations 14, 25, 300 and 99 dispatched to 153 Beaver Dam Rd, Clay Twp (behind this address and west of the railroad tracks), for a male stuck knee deep in swamp. Patient states he is not injured but needs assistance with extrication.
14:21: Chief 300 acknowledges the call.
14:22: Station 99 acknowledges the call; 99-3 assigned. Squad 14 responding with 1 tech.
14:23: Lieutenant 300-2 is responding to the scene.
14:24: The male was duck hunting and was instructed to unload his firearm. Captain 14 is en route to the scene with the boat. Squad 20 is responding.
14:26: Cap-14 is stating he is a minute out.
14:28: Cap-14 is arriving on scene, looking for the individual. Control advises the male states he is within view of the railroad tracks.
14:29: Station 14 is asking Cap-14 if he wants the Utility next and he does.
14:30: Cap-14 is asking Chief 13 to respond their UTV. C-13 is asking for his station to be activated. Control states there is an individual with the patient now, on the railroad tracks. Station 13 is alerted for the call.
14:32: Cap-14 is asking Control if 153 Beaver Dam Rd stated they could see the patient; Control states they haven’t spoken directly with anyone except the patient and they are going off his phone ping. All units are to respond to Queens Junction Rd @ Mahood to stage until the patient is located. Rescue 14(?) called en route but is told by Cap-14 he needs their Utility.
14:35: Cap-14 is now instructing responding units to respond to Thompsontown Rd at Queens Junction at the entrance to the railroad tracks.
14:38: Utility 25 is en route. Cap-14 reports he is with the individual now. The railroad is to be notified of their operations. UTV-13 is responding.
14:39: Cap-14 states this will be pickup access only from the entrance to the tracks.
14:40: U-14 is on scene at Thompsontown.
14:41: L-300-2 is on location. Cap-14 is asking Control how many water rescue techs are on the road.
14:42: Squad 20 states an ETA of 10 minutes with 3 techs. Trucks are to drive back the old railroad tracks; the patient is near the bridge of the old tracks. U-14 or U-25 is now on scene.
14:43: Utility 14 is now advising Cap-14 they are on the way back.
14:46: The UTV is instructed to unload and send their manpower back. Only 1 tech is with U-14 currently.
14:48: Cap-14 states he needs additional techs; the patient is in a couple of feet of water.
14:49: 99-3 is on scene. UTV-13 is on location. C-300 is on location with Squad 20.
14:51: Control states the railroad has been notified and the tracks are shut down for operations.
14:55: Five water rescue techs are making their way back now.
15:08: Four technicians are going in to retrieve the individual now.
15:15: Cap-14 states the patient is about 1,500 yards off the railroad tracks and is giving other units instructions for better access.
15:16: Cap-14 is advising C-13 the patient is on their path, about 100 yards straight in front of them. C-13 doesn’t think they can get a boat through and will need a plan B.
15:19: C-13 is advising Cap-14 to send EMS.
15:20: UTV-13 is coming out to get the ambulance crew; the male patient has hypothermia to the legs.
15:21: Cap-14 is asking the extent of the injury, if they will need a helicopter; C-13 states he thinks they will be good with ground units.
15:22: Water rescue techs have made patient contact and are beginning extrication now.
15:23: EMS is advised the patient has been in the water since approximately 1 PM and is unable to move his toes and has numbness from the waist down.
15:24: R-25 is advising Command the ambulance crew is on their way back now.
15:26: The patient has been loaded onto the boat now.
15:27: C-13 states they are on the way out with the patient now and is asking Cap-14 to work on a plan to get the patient up the embankment.
15:28: A line with a Stokes basket is being prepared now to get the patient up the hillside.
15:39: Patient extrication is marked complete.
15:47: The ambulance crew is asking Command to have their stretcher taken out of their truck; they’re on the way out with the patient now.
16:00: Canadian National is to be advised they can reopen the tracks.
16:02: Incident terminated.
16:08: UTV-13 is back in service.
