Chimney Fire, Burke Rd, Cranberry

10:47: Station 90 structure fire response dispatched to 60 Burke Road in Cranberry Township for a chimney fire. Chief 41 reports that he, Engine 21-2, and Fire Police are responding from a Goehring Road call where there was a broken water line they were unable to shut off. Engine 21 is also responding.

10:48: Station 19 acknowledges the call; Chief 21 is responding. C-21 reports a call will be coming in from Beaver County and Control is asked to advise Station 21 is unavailable.

10:49: 51-3 is en route.

10:50: Engine 22-3 and Tower 42 are responding.

10:51: Chief 42 is responding.

10:52: C-21 and C-41 are both on scene; Control is advised to standby for an update.

10:53: Engine 20 is en route. E-21-2 is instructed to pull up the drive as far as they can and pull their 300′ line to the Charlie side of the residence.

10:54: E-21-2 is on scene, first due engine. Engine(?) 42-3 is responding understaffed. C-41 states they have a single story residential with nothing evident from all 4 sides of the exterior.

10:55: Allegheny 228-Truck is responding. E-21 is approaching and is instructed to stage behind E-21-2 on the roadway and connect to them. C-42 is on scene.

10:56: Command states the 360° inspection is complete; they’re continuing to investigate. The third due engine is to stage at the hydrant at Burke and Franklin. 51-3 reports they are staged at Serendipity and Burke.

10:57: Ladder 22 is en route. E-42-3 is approaching Burke and taking the hydrant.

10:58: T-42 is arriving. The interior attack team has reported the fire is contained to the fireplace or fireplace box(?).

10:59: Any unit not on scene is now canceled.

11:03: Command is advising Operations he has E-21 working on opening the clean-out on the Alpha side. Operations says someone is grabbing a fan as well.

11:09: Command states all units except C-42 and 21 and return in service.

11:10: E-42-3 is asking Command if they can come off the hydrant and he states affirmative.

11:12: Operations is telling Command they are getting the vent taken off the fireplace and still have some pretty red embers and high heat. Command states they’re still working on the exterior clean-out and haven’t made much progress as of now.

11:13: Operations is asking for a water can to the basement; Command is sending the E-21-2 crew.

11:16: Operations states the vent pipe is 100% full. Command is advising they just got access outside and got the cap off; the pipe out there is completely full as well.

11:17: Command is asking for the water can to the exterior now.

11:27: 51-3 is responding to a medical call.

11:32: Burke Road Command reports all units are clear and in service.
