Possible Fire, Robinson Drive

13:55: Stations 90, 22 to 400 Robinson Drive for a transformer that went out and now there’s a smell of heat in the building; no smoke or fire.

13:56: Duty Chief 42 is responding. Station 51 acknowledges the call and will monitor from their station; Station 22 also acknowledges. Chiefs 22 and 21-2 are responding.

13:57: Engine 19, and Towers 21 and 42 are en route.

13:59: Squad 98 is on scene reporting evacuation in progress, nothing showing.

14:00: Tanker 22 en route.

14:01: Tanker 22 is on scene with command. They are investigating.

14:05: E-19 is to standby at the hydrant at the corner of the building.

14:06: Ladder 22 is en route. Chief 22 is on location, assuming command.

14:07: T-22 is advising C-22 they have a light smell of smoke inside with no haze. Tower 21 is on scene.

14:08: The smell has been isolated to the 1st floor.

14:10: Tower 21 and Ladder 22 are instructed to setup and check the roof.

14:11: C-21 states the 360 inspection is complete with nothing evident from all 4 sides of the exterior. E-19 crew is being instructed to send their crew inside with the thermal camera.

14:12: T-42 is on scene.

14:14: L-22 is setup on the Alpha side, checking the roof.

14:17: Beaver Tanker 26 is en route. T-42 is on the roof stating there is something on the roof and they are not going to walk on it.

14:18: L-22 now also reporting on the roof.

14:19: Fire Police are instructed not to let any traffic down the road.

14:20: C-22 is advising Operations he has an additional crew outside if needed but the reply is that they’re good with what they have. Allegheny 228 acknowledges the call.

14:21: The roof crew is advising operations they have no indication of a problem there.

14:22: Beaver Tanker 26 is on scene.

14:23: An unidentifiable unit states they believe they’ve found the problem.

14:26: The roof crew is being told they’re allowed to come down at this time.

14:27: 228-Engine-1 is en route.

14:29: Command states the source has been identified as lighting ballast on the 1st division. All units can begin to pack up and return in service.

14:38: Station 19 units are clear of the scene.

14:39: Station 42 is now clear as well.

14:41: Command states all units are returning in service.
