Structure Fire, Terrace Apartments

20:23: Station 1 dispatched for an automatic fire alarm at the Terrace Apartments, 111 S. Cliff Street. Hallway smoke detector in an apartment. One caller reported smelling burnt food; another reports a hallway on the 3rd floor full of smoke.

20:24: Engine 1-2 and Tower 1 are en route.

20:26: Control is advising a resident on the 4th floor reports a smell of burnt food. E-1-2 is reporting on location.

20:27: Control is now advising a caller on the 3rd floor reports the hallway is full of smoke.

20:30: Lieutenant 1-3 is requesting Control upgrade this to a structure fire response with the sprinkler system activated and smoke in the hallway; he is advising E-1-2 they will need keys for locked doors. Stations 38 and 99, and Ladder 3 are added to the call.

20:31: E-38 en route. Station 99 is unable to cover the call.

20:32: E-1 requesting a high-rise pack with smoke in the apartment. Station 44 is alerted for the call.

20:33: Station 44 acknowledges the call. Control is being instructed to advise the ambulance there is a victim.

20:34: 44-2 is en route. Command is requesting EMS step it up; they state they are responding emergency and request a patient update but there is no immediate response.

20:35: Control is asking 99 if they have another unit. 99-3 is clearing BMH and responding.

20:36: Patient has smoke inhalation; elderly female. She is conscious at this time. Tower 1 crew advising Command fire is knocked down, active water from the sprinkler.

20:37: Engine 1-2 requesting all city shifts be activated. Ladder 3 is responding. 99-3 is approaching. E-38 is arriving on scene.

20:38: 44-2 is now approaching; they are instructed to proceed into the building; their patient is in the lobby. Chief 3 is on scene. A unit is asking 99-3 if they have a blanket. 44-2 is reporting on scene.

20:39: Fire is extinguished at this time.

20:41: Ladder 3 is approaching and instructed to proceed to the rear of the building.

20:43: L-3 is reporting on scene.

20:46: Division 3 reporting all occupants isolated in their apartments, requesting a fan.

20:50: Engine 1 is responding.

20:52: E-1 is on scene.

20:58: 44-2 is transporting the patient to Butler Memorial Hospital.

21:00: Division 5 is asking Command for a master key; there is at least 1 apartment not answering.

21:01: Command advises the key is on its way up from Division 3.

21:03: 44-2 is out at BMH.

21:04: Command is advised Divisions 4 and 5 are clear. It is unknown if units have gone to the upper floors; Command is now having them proceed to Divisions 6 and 7.

21:09: Division 6 is clear.

21:11: Division 7 is clear.

21:15: Division 7 or 8 is being reported clear.

21:28: 44-2 is clear of the hospital and back in service; there have been no further updates from the scene at this time.

21:33: 99-3 is now clear of the scene.

21:34: Chief 3 reports all Station 3 units are back in service.

21:36: E-38 is available and returning to station.

21:56: Cliff Street Command is terminated; all units are back in service.
