23:00: Stations 22, 24, and 64 alerted for a passerby report of a truck overturned in the southbound lanes of I-79 near the 92 mile marker.
23:02: Stations 24 and 22 acknowledge the call. 62-2 is en route. Control is advising the driver is reportedly still inside. There is a male with a reported head injury.
23:03: Captain 22 is en route and states Rescue 21 will be responding, no dispatch required.
23:04: Chief 22 requesting the incident be re-dispatched with entrapment. Engine 22-3 is en route.
23:05: A unit from Station 21, possibly Rescue 21 is en route.
23:06: Control is advising Captain 22 the callers are not reporting entrapment just that the male is still in the vehicle and the truck is believed to be hauling French fries(?). Stations 22 and 24 re-alerted.
23:10: Engine 24 is on scene reporting tractor-trailer overturned in the middle of I-79.
23:11: Chief 24-3 is reporting the driver is out of the vehicle, no entrapment.
23:11: 62-2 is on scene.
23:15: Units on scene are stating there is not enough room to get traffic past, especially tractor-trailers.
23:16: Captain 22 is on scene assuming Command. Tanker 24 and Squad 22 are on scene.
23:19: I-79 Command is requesting Station 13 to shut down I-79 at Route 488 as the road is impassable.
23:20: Station 13 is alerted for the call.
23:22: Station 13 acknowledges the call.
23:28: Engine 13 is responding.
23:38: Chief 22-3 is checking with 13 units if the interstate has been shut down yet; Engine 13-2 replies affirmative.
23:42: 62-2 is transporting BLS to Cranberry hospital.
23:43: Squad 22 is approaching and is instructed to bring Oil-Dri to the truck when they arrive.
23:51: Engine 13 is reporting a vehicle and a tractor-trailer got through their “transition” (unclear if the road is fully closed at this time). Command is advising the truck will “have to sit.”
00:00: 62-2 is out at UPMC Cranberry.
00:13: Station 24 units are reporting clear of the scene.
00:21: Control is inquiring if the trailer has been breached and if the refrigeration unit is still running. Command states there is damage to the passenger side, but they’re unable to tell if it is breached; the refrigeration unit was shut off.
00:24: Control now states the original inquirer has a list of questions; Command states he will call in; Control states they tried to get this person to speak with Command directly but they refused.
01:15: Command is advising Engine 13 there is a call in to try to get PennDOT to relieve Station 13 units; no ETA.
01:16: Control is now advising Command that PennDOT gave a 1 hour ETA.
02:35: Engine 13 is now reporting the PennDOT crew has arrived to relieve them, and they are back in service.
02:50: All Station 24 units are back in service.
06:24: I-79 Command is now advising all Station 22 units are back in service; the tow company will reportedly notify PennDOT when the roadway can be reopened.
