Vehicle in Water, Occupied, Kiester Road

19:08: Stations 33 and 52 along with Water Rescue Team 300 for a vehicle into water, male occupant reportedly not injured but water is rising. Kiester Road at West Lake Lane. Units advised to use Harmony Road for access.

19:09: 33 and 52 acknowledging. Engine 33-2 and 34 clearing their previous incident responding to this one.

19:10: Chief 14-2 acknowledging for Team 300.

19:11: Lieutenant 300-3 en route. Engine 33-2 on location with an occupied vehicle, establishing Kiester Road Command.

19:12: Chief 14-2 asking if they’ll need the boat, stating they’ll bring the inflatable. Engine 34 on location.

19:15: Engine 34 diverting back to Campus Side Drive for an automatic fire alarm as before.

19:16: Squad 22 is en route with Team 300 boats. Tower 33 instructed to attempt to use the ladder to reach the occupant.

19:17: Station 52 unit instructed to stage for the time being. Unidentified unit stating SRU police are needed; they were previously requested to close the road due to flooding.

University PD requested to respond to the scene.
Slippery Rock University Police were requested at 18:55, approximately 13 minutes prior to the incident, to close the roadway.

19:25: Rescue 14 is on Harmony Road now requesting orders from Command. Command instructs them to meet up with Tower 33, they’re trying to get a vest to the patient then pull him back into the basket.

Units will be attempting to get a life vest to the patient.

19:29: Command instructing Rescue 14 they’ll need to do a shallow crossing. R-14 is advising Harmony Road is completely blocked by flood water. R-14 has been having difficulty receiving responses from units on scene.

19:30: Rescue 14 on scene.

19:45: Squad 20 instructed to send water rescue technicians down stream for downstream safeties. Command is being advised two Team 300 personnel will be downstream momentarily. Command states if they park in the middle school parking lot the creek runs right beside it.

19:47: Team 300 Command is reiterating the need for downstream safeties to Team 300. Squad 20 is reporting to Squad 22 they have three technicians pulling up now.

19:52: Squad 20 and Chief 300 on scene.

19:54: 52-2 instructed to clear and handle a medical call on Ralston Road to which Superior Ambulance had been en route.

19:56: Superior 109 reported on scene and 52-2 was canceled for the Ralston Road call; they are also back in service from the water rescue per Command.

20:01: Chief 13-2 is asking Chief 33 if Prospect units are still needed in the area; Chief 33 is asking them to standby in Station 33.

Prospect units are to standby in Station 33 for the time being.

20:13: All Station 34 units are reportedly back in service, unclear for which incident(s).

20:33: Chief 300 reporting all Team 300 units are back in service.
