17:04: Stations 3, 1 and 99 alerted for an MVA involving a car and 2 motorcycles at the intersection of Pittsburgh Road and Cooledge Street. Engine 1-2 and Tower 1 en route. 99-2 and 99-3 assigned.
17:05: 99-3 en route requesting Control check the availability of air medical. Rescue 3 en route.
17:06: 99-2 en route. Engine 1-2 on scene establishing Pittsburgh Road Command, also requesting a helicopter on standby. Control states they are on the phone now. Rescue 3 approaching, instructed to help divert traffic.
17:07: Control states a firefighter is on scene advising there are 3 patients and 1 is critical. Ambulance states a minute out.
17:08: Engine 1-2 stating they will need 3 ambulances and possibly 2 helicopters. 99-3 on scene. Control checking with Station 99 if they have an additional unit.
17:09: 99-4 is assigned with an extended ETA. 99-2 on scene.
17:10: 99-4 is en route from Dinnerbell Road in Penn Township. Lieutenant 3 on scene assuming Command.
17:11: Control states LifeFlight 2 is the closest aircraft with an 18 minute ETA, Stat 15 would be the second with a 27 minute ETA. Both are on standby; Command will advise. Squad 3-2 en route. Engine 1-2 now requesting 1 helicopter to BMH helipad.
17:12: Squad 3-2 approaching instructed to stage behind Squad 3-3 already on scene.
17:13: Squad 3-2 on scene.
17:13: Control notifying Command LF2 will be en route with 18 minute ETA, Stat is still on standby, 27 minute ETA if needed.
17:15: Route 8 Command checking on 99-4’s ETA, they’re stating they’re passing Greater Butler Mart.
17:17: 99-4 on location.
17:18: Control states LifeFlight 2 was unable to fly due to weather; Stat 15 has now been dispatched with a 27 minute ETA to the BMH helipad.
17:23: Command checking how many helicopter have been launched; Control states only Stat so far, they are on the phone still with LifeFlight. Command states only Stat is needed currently but to keep LifeFlight on standby until further notice.
17:24: 99-2 is en route to Allegheny General Hospital, ALS.
17:26: Command states they will not be utilizing LifeFlight unless there is a closer helicopter. LifeFlight 4 is reported still at Pittsburgh (from the earlier dirt bike accident) and if they get airborne they will be 10-15 out, but they are not yet airborne. Command states if they can get airborne they will be utilized.
17:27: 99-3 informing Command they’ll be coming back through, en route to AGH now.
17:29: Command states Control can cancel ALL helicopters; all patients will be ground transport. Control confirming the Stat helicopter that was en route to BMH can also cancel, Command confirms.
17:33: 99-4 en route to Allegheny General.
17:34: Engine 1-2 back in service.
18:13: 99-2 reporting arrival at AGH.
18:16: 99-4 is now out at AGH as well.
18:34: Pittsburgh Road Command asking Control to notify PA American Water they will need to check the hydrant at the intersection, it is possibly damaged.
18:36: 99-3 is now clear of AGH.
18:51: Pittsburgh Road Command terminated, all Station 3 units back in service.
