18:32: Stations 21, Allegheny 185, 42, and 51 alerted for an MVA with rollover in the median at the 78 mile marker of I-79 in Cranberry Township, possibly 4 injuries. This is 3rd call to Cranberry Station 51.
18:33: 62-3 is clear of their previous call, en route to the interstate, also stating they are now in the vicinity of the crash, asking Control for the details again.
18:34: Control stating again up to 4 patients, “it sounds like walking wounded.” 62-3 now stating this is at the Cranberry Exit northbound.
18:36: Chief 21 confirming 1 vehicle on its side.
18:38: Chief 21 on location establishing I-79 Command.
18:39: 51-3 confirming 1 entrapped. A roof removal will be needed on a pickup truck. Squad 21 en route.
18:40: Rescue 42 on scene, instructed to begin the roof removal.
18:41: Rescue 21 on scene instructed to assist with extrication.
18:42: Squad 98 on scene.
18:44: Control reporting McCandless EMS is en route and another out of county fire unit is also en route. 51 has a patient and Squad 98 believes they’ll have a patient refusal. Another 51 unit is also en route at this time.
18:45: I-79 Command is requesting additional fire units.
18:48: Rescue 185 is approaching from the I-76 on-ramp at this time.
18:50: Rescue 185 on scene. I-79 Command timestamping patient extrication complete. Some incoming units instructed to stage at 228 to cover any additional calls in the area.
18:56: 51-3 stating en route to AGH with 1 patient “also” though no other unit was heard transporting. Squad 98 is back in service.
18:58: 62-3 transporting to AGH now.
17:04: Fire Police reporting to I-79 Command the tow truck is inbound.
17:05: FP instructed to hold all traffic.
19:07: Rescue 42 clear.
19:17: 51-3 and 62-3 both out at Allegheny General Hospital.
19:18: Fire Police units are being told when the tow truck leaves, PSP will take over the scene and fire units can clear.
19:25: Incident terminated.
